About the Author

Reynaldo “Ronnie” Alejandro, a cook, caterer, dancer, choreographer, and author, is a leading exponent of Philippine dance and cooking in America. He has written more than a dozen books, including Philippine Cookbook, Flavor of Asia, Restaurant Design, Sayaw Silangan: The Dance in the Philippines, Philippine Dance: Mainstream and Crosscurrents, Philippine Hospitality, Class Menu Design, Pinoy Guide to the Big Apple, and PinoyYork.

His articles have appeared in the following publications: The New York Times, Cuisine Magazine, Food and Wine Magazine, Pacific Magazine, Mabuhay Magazine, Dance Magazine, Filipinas Magazine, Migration Today, Filipino Reporter, Philippine Magazine, Lifestyle Asia Magazine, International Encyclopedia of Dance, Taipan Magazine, Food Magazine, and Philippine Inquirer, among others.

Alejandro has been the recipient of several awards, including Creative Artists Public Service Program (CAPS) Award in Choreography and Outstanding Filipino Award. He lives in New York, New York.
