Welcome to Filipino Americans.Net!
This website provides information and resources about the immigration
of Filipinos to the United States and their history, culture, traditions,
and way of life. FilipinoAmericans.net also provides Philippine
news from Filipino news sites around the world and original Filipino
recipes from many websites.
Although some Filipinos visited America, many, many years ago,
it was only in 1763 that Filipinos started to live in the United
States. Seamen, called the Manilamen, jumped ship, off New
Orleans, Louisiana, and Acapulco, Mexico, during the Spanish galleon
trade and settled in the bayous of Louisiana. Since then, Filipino
Americans quietly have made their indelible marks on America as
politicians, doctors, judges, entrepreneurs, singers, professors,
movie and television stars, etc. You name it, and there are many
Filipino American achievers in every field of dream. To all Filipinos
and Filipino Americans, we dedicate this site. To all Filipinos
in the Philippines and around the world, we sincerely hope that
this site will give you a glimpse of the Filipino American way of
life.
